FIRST MEETING OF THE SEMESTER

KCOMTEPS

• Stands for Kansas Consortium of Music Teacher Education Professors and Students. KCOMTEPS is a conference for collegiate NAfME chapters, and their professors, taking place on September 25th, in Wichita. The Featured clinician is Dr. Jessica Napoles, she is the professor of choral music education at UNT. Registration is only $5; however, you must pay your national dues before you can register.

• The Deadline to register is September 15th at midnight. There is a late registration fee after September 15th.

• The registration fee is $5 for students, and $10 after September 15th.

• Make sure your C-NAfME membership dues have been paid and that your membership is current before registering. Renew your C-NAfME memberships here.

NATIONAL DUES

National dues are $30 for Kansas collegiate students, you can renew or sign up here.

Please use this link to purchase the national collegiate membership. Make sure you register for Kansas Music Educators Association and not Kentucky. Once you have purchased your membership there will be a receipt, so please keep a screenshot of the receipt for future reference.

CHAPTER DUES

Work in progress. Usually $15 dollars. Payment plan arrangements can be made. Date for chapter dues will be decided in a later email. Shirts are also an option that we are looking into. Watch your email for information soon.

NEKMEA District Live Auditions:

Dr. Dakon has informed us that the Northeast KMEA High School Orchestra Chairperson is looking for collegiate students to volunteer on Saturday, Nov. 5th. Collegiate volunteers may serve as door runners and monitors for the event. It is a great opportunity for students to see the inner workers of these events and network with current educators, but also helps the directors out tremendously. Marching band members will not be able to participate, so please if you are not in marching band, sign up! A sign-up form will be sent out closer to the event.
