January Meeting Minutes

Thank you to everyone that attended tonight's meeting. We had a wonderful turnout, and I hope you all enjoyed hearing from our guest speaker, Dr. Garcia-Novelli. New to the minutes is information regarding the KMEA In-Service Workshop and hotel information, so be sure to read through!

Guest Speaker, Dr. Garcia-Novelli:

Dr. Garcia-Novelli gave an insightful presentation on "Getting a Music Program Contest Ready", which highlighted a few strategies to consider when taking ensembles to high profile events. Topics discussed include: programming music and the importance of recording rehearsals/performances.

NATIONAL & CHAPTER DUES

Chapter dues are $25, please pay to our KU-NAfME Venmo (@KUNAfME_C). Additionally, once you have paid both the national and chapter dues please fill out this quick Google Form with proof of payment.

If you are having trouble with any dues please do not hesitate to contact me or anyone on the executive team to get help! Also, here is a short video tutorial to help everyone walk through the process of paying national dues.

New KMEA Information:

Register for In-Service Workshop & Hotel Information

Attached is a helpful flyer to read through. We will have a full discussion for just KMEA in our February meeting, where we will walk through the flyer as well as other information. If you are going to KMEA with our chapter, we highly encourage you to come to the meeting because we will discuss room assignments. Lastly, registration for the In-Service Workshop is time-sensitive in that after February 1st,the price to register increases.
